Rain was a familiar sight for Simon Shepard last week as he made his return to Old Trafford Cricket Ground. However, on this occasion the discussion didn’t centre round Lancashire, the County Cricket Champions for 2011 but on champions of a different nature.
Simon joined speakers from a variety of backgrounds at the NHS North West Leadership Academy Awards which were held at the ground. ‘Champions Through Change’ proved to be a day of inspiring talks and practical presentations together with 6 awards for leaders recognised for their outstanding work within the NHS.
Simon’s presentation focused on the highly successful programme that Optima-life has been running with NHS leaders based in the North West.
“It was great to hear so many positive stories about gold standard work being carried out in the NHS. I was very impressed by all the nominees who all had such positive mindsets. This was reflected throughout an event which championed not only fantastic leadership within the NHS but also a fantastic service.”
